Storage Solutions

Your method of storing and accessing materials for processing is both a facility and automation issue. At HorizonPSI, we work with all types and sizes of customers so we offer many different ingredient storage and access solutions.

From dusting to contamination to exposure, properly stored ingredients improve product quality and reduce waste. From four cubic feet to over 12,000 cubic feet, we have a right-sized solution to fit your needs – from custom loading platforms and custom bin clusters to bag dumps and stackable rigid intermediate bulk containers (RIBC). Executing the right loading process can affect your entire production process.

Many materials are shipped in bulk bags and easy loading, dispersing and clean up are essential for an efficient process. At HorizonPSI, we offer two styles of bulk bag dischargers, as well as, material flow aids to provide for bulk bag management.

  • Fork Lift Load
  • Self-Contained Monorail Load
Bag dumps are manually operated and require a worker to physically lift and cut open the bag. At HorizonPSI, we offer two options – one with an integral dust collection system and one with a remote dust collection system.

The small bag dump with an integral dust collection system provides a downdraft of air across the open grate area in order to capture fugitive dust, thus promoting a cleaner and safer working environment.

The small bag dump with remote dust collection system comes complete with a flanged/stub air connection for tying into a central dust collection system. The central dust collection system provides a downdraft of air across the open grate area in order to capture fugitive dust, thus promoting a cleaner and safer working environment.

  • Round Bag Dump
The word silo comes from the Greek word silos which means “a pit for holding grain”. Today, silos or tanks hold many different materials used in consumable and non-consumable products and are essential for receiving and storing bulk materials prior to processing. At HorizonPSI, we utilize both indoor and outdoor silos/tanks and accessories in our system designs. Average silo/tank sizes are between 8 and 14 feet in diameter and up to 84 feet high. Silos often require a vent filter, level indicators and explosion protection, as well as, other accessories to work in unison with your processing system.

When your process requires multiple ingredients, how you store and access those ingredients makes all the difference. HorizonPSI offers standard intermediate storage options such as individual IBCs (intermediate bulk containers) in carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum or polyethylene, as well as, custom solutions that integrate several storage options. From stackable and moveable IBCs integrated into your ingredient management system to fixed bins with integrated RFID coded bag dumps, we offer cost effective, sanitary and flexible solutions for managing your intermediate ingredients.
