A Safety Record 10 Years in the Making
HorizonPSI is proud to celebrate our safety record of ten years without a lost workday.

In 2008, we experienced fourteen reportable lost workday accidents in our Lawrence production facility. Our leadership at the time found this unacceptable. So, they tightened our focus on safety – not only in the shop, but throughout our company.
Dave Nutter, vice president of operations, has been the driving force regarding employee safety. Dave strives to provide the resources needed daily to have the safest work environment possible. He hired safety consultant Mark Roggy and together they accomplished the following:
- Sponsored OSHA 10 training for all field service technicians and active project managers
- Arranged for all production employees to participate in monthly training sessions to reinforce safe practices
- Created a HorizonPSI safety committee that meets monthly to review new production methods and reinforce proper safety techniques
- Conducted monthly safety audits and work station inspections to verify safe practices
- Created content for new-hire orientations which include safety education
Those fourteen reported lost workday accidents in 2008 dropped to four in 2009. To date, the last lost workday accident was February 7, 2010. Since then, we have logged 1,463,189+ work hours without an incident. Here's to another 10 years!
